Report on anti-pipeline banner drop in solidarity with blockade a the Port of Montreal.
We wish to underline the urgent need for action in the face of climate change, which is real and directly threatens biodiversity as well as the health of millions of inhabitants of the territory of Quebec.
“The goal of these activists, who come from across the province, is to immediately obtain a plan to shut down the 9B line and inform the public of the issues concerning this pipeline…”https://t.co/qzbQ6JDt3w

This action is undertaken in support of the ongoing blockade, in Montréal-Est, of the supply of diluted bitumen to oil tankers from the largest pipeline in Quebec, Enbridge’s line 9B.
According to the Montreal Gazette:
A group of protesters who chained themselves to the Valero oil terminal in Montréal-Est on Wednesday to denounce the Enbridge 9B oil pipeline were arrested and released on a promise to appear in court, the group Collectif Antigone said.
But the occupation of the site continued into Wednesday night, as temperatures dropped to 5 degrees C.
